The Gunslebent variety, also known under the synonyms Große Gunslebener Zellernuss, Gunslebener Große, Gunslebener Riesennuss, Gunslebensky and Gunsleber Zellernuss, was obtained by Justizrat Burchardt in the town of Landsberg an der Warthe from seeds of the Frühe lange Zellernuss variety. The first mentions of the variety date back to the mid-19th century.
Detailed agronomic characteristics, including yield indicators, disease resistance and morphological features of the fruits, are absent in available sources. The variety is historically considered in the context of fruit gardening as a form for obtaining nuts and is currently of interest as part of the genetic reserve of heirloom varieties.
