The fruits of the Gubener Zeller variety are characterized by a light brown color and a round, slightly flattened shape. The variety is mid-season; the fruits ripen in mid-September. Yield is determined as high, although under certain conditions it may be medium.
The plant is distinguished by high frost resistance. The variety is grown primarily for nut production and does not belong to the red-leaved decorative forms of hazel.
