The variety is considered traditional and is used for cultivation in intensive and commercial orchards, including as a pollinator variety. Flowering occurs relatively late, 2–4 days later than a number of other varieties, which reduces the risk of damage from spring frosts.
Fruits ripen in the period from September to November. The variety shows high susceptibility to infection by the bacterial blight Erwinia amylovora, and is therefore mentioned in reports as one of the most susceptible to this disease.
