Cydora Robusta
ActiveCydonia oblonga Mill. · Quince
10 August 2026
The fruits reach 13–18 cm in length, have a pear shape and bright yellow skin covered with grey fuzz, which partially disappears upon ripening. The fruit flesh is firm, yellowish, possesses a sour taste and high astringency.
The tree is distinguished by vigorous growth, which has historically allowed it to be used as a rootstock. The variety is characterized by regular yields; the fruits are firmly held on the branches and are not prone to premature shedding.
The variety is intended for culinary processing: making compotes, marmalades, and baking. It may be inferior to some varieties in terms of winter hardiness.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
