Cydora Robusta
ActiveCydonia oblonga Mill. · Quince
10 August 2026
The variety is late-ripening, with harvest time occurring in September–October. The tree is characterized as medium-sized and can grow in the form of a tree or a shrub. The variety shows relative resistance to diseases, but is sensitive to drought and excessive lime content in the soil.
The fruits have a pear-shaped ribbed form and a lemon-yellow color. The flesh is aromatic, sweet or sweet-sour, sometimes with a slight astringency. Due to the dense consistency, the fruits are used more often for processing into jams, preserves, and compotes than for fresh consumption. Also, the plant can be used as a rootstock for pear.
