The Eline rootstock is used in horticulture to limit tree growth, allowing trees to reach a height of approximately 3–4 meters depending on growing conditions. Due to its compact size, it is suitable for cultivating trees in containers.

In commercial catalogs, the name Eline is often confused with the quince fruit variety Elena. Unlike the Elena variety, which is a fruit crop, Eline is exclusively a technical rootstock not intended for fruit production as an independent variety.
