Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety originates from an old orchard at the Fuglebjerggård estate in Denmark, where a tree approximately 100 years old was growing. In 1999, propagation material was transferred to the Blomstergårdens Pomet collection.

The fruit shape differs little from the Portugisisk Pærekvæde variety. Due to the longevity of the mother tree, the variety is characterized as healthy and hardy. The fruits are used in cooking for making marmalade and other dishes where aroma and pectin content are valued.
