The BA29 variety is a medium-vigor rootstock that provides grafted pear trees with a compact size compared to seedling rootstocks, while ensuring more robust development than on dwarf forms. The rootstock promotes high productivity and early onset of fruiting.
The plant possesses adaptability to various soil types, including dry and calcareous sites. In terms of phytosanitary resistance, the variety shows resistance to powdery mildew and crown gall, but is sensitive to fire blight and leaf spot.
