This group of plants is used in professional horticulture as a rootstock for pear and other quince varieties. It is valued for its ability to limit the growth vigor of the scion, which allows for the formation of compact trees, as well as for its high adaptability to various soils, including dry, poor, and calcareous soils.
The plants are characterized by good growth vigor, drought tolerance, low sensitivity to mealybugs, and rarely form outgrowths on the trunk. In May, abundant decorative flowering with white-pink flowers is observed. Fruiting of grafted trees occurs relatively quickly, after 3 years.
Despite its primary use as a rootstock, the plants produce large bright yellow fruits suitable for making jams, jellies, and liqueurs.
