The rootstock was selected for use in nursery production. Grafting pear onto it allows for reduced tree vigor compared to seedling rootstocks and accelerates the onset of the fruiting period.
Trees on this rootstock are characterized by a semi-dwarf growth habit. The rootstock has good compatibility with most pear varieties, but for some varieties, such as «Вильямс», an interstock is required.
The plant is sensitive to high lime content in the soil, which can cause chlorosis, as well as to severe frosts. At the same time, the rootstock demonstrates resistance to a number of soil-borne pathogens, including bacterial canker.
