The MC rootstock is intended for creating intensive orchards with a dense planting scheme. It is one of the most dwarfing among quince rootstocks, which limits the vigor of grafted trees.
The root system of the rootstock is shallow, due to which trees may require additional support. The rootstock requires regular irrigation and does not tolerate heavy or calcareous soils.
When using this rootstock, the scion begins to fruit in the second year after planting. When working with it, it is necessary to consider compatibility with specific pear varieties.
