The MA rootstock belongs to semi-dwarfing forms. Trees grafted onto it reach a height of 3–3.5 meters provided that pruning is controlled. This rootstock is characterized by high technical efficiency: the output of high-quality seedlings during budding is 80–85%.
The use of the rootstock ensures good resistance of grafted plants to soil conditions, in particular, the absence of chlorosis even on calcareous soils. The rootstock is widely used in commercial fruit growing as a classic Angers quince clone, ensuring good compatibility with scions.
