The plant forms massive heads; the weight of the central inflorescences exceeds 400 g, and the secondary ones reach 300 g. The dense inflorescences consist of broad, short scales, the edges of which may have a violet tint.

The variety is a perennial crop requiring intensive manual labor and is sensitive to frost and soil waterlogging. Plants can remain in the soil for up to three years.

Due to its size and structure, the variety is used in cooking for preparation whole or stuffed.
