The Capitan variety belongs to the artichoke crop and is grown for floral head production. Its morphological description is noted for a semi-erect leaf habit, with the upper side of the leaf blade being light in color.
The variety possesses resistance to viral infections, in particular to the artichoke latent virus, demonstrating lower susceptibility to the disease compared to the Camus de Bretagne and Castel varieties.
