The variety «Sybaris» is mentioned in UPOV and CPVO documentation as an example for the morphological description of artichoke. Characteristic features of the variety are long leaves, a broad shape of the leaf blade, and a specific shape of the leaf lobe tip.

Data on the agronomic characteristics of the variety, such as maturity group, plant height, or disease resistance, are absent in open publications. The name «Sybaris» is also found in vegetable catalogs as a bean variety, which may lead to confusion.
