The plant has a dense and bushy growth habit, reaching a height of 40 to 60 cm depending on growing conditions. The foliage is glossy, dark green in hue.

The flowers are large, bell-shaped, and purple-violet in color, with a green calyx. Flowering continues from the beginning of summer until the end of August or September.

The variety prefers acidic, well-drained soils. The plant does not tolerate heavy soils well or sites with stagnant cold air.
