The variety was bred by the Danish breeding company Dæhnfeldt. It was widely cultivated in the 1970s and 1980s and was often used in scientific research as a reference sample. At present, it belongs to the category of old varieties.
The plant possesses high resistance to rust fungi. During comparative trials, the variety demonstrated good forage qualities, in particular, high content of total protein in the biomass.
