The variety was bred in France through selection from the Porto variety. The plant belongs to an intermediate type of Dactylis glomerata, combining traits of temperate and Mediterranean types. It has an erect habit and a fine structure of leaves and stems, which reduces the tendency to form coarse clumps and improves palatability for livestock.

The variety possesses improved growth rates during the autumn and winter periods, allowing for forage production during the off-season. It is characterized by resistance to diseases and tolerance to summer grazing. It is a reliable forage crop suitable for use in pasture mixtures with other species, including legumes.
