The Vaillant variety is used in scientific research on the species and genetic diversity of pasture grass mixtures. It is included in official agricultural plant catalogues, in particular the European Commission catalogues, and appears in experimental sowings as a reference for breeding work.
During studies on the infection of grasses by the fungus Epichloë typhina in the Czech Republic in the period 2008–2009, the variety demonstrated a low level of disease incidence. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as maturity group or plant height, are not available in open sources.
