Variety description

The variety is a medium-sized tree 2.6–3.5 m in height with a dense spreading crown. It is a hybrid of Diospyros virginiana and Diospyros kaki intended for cultivation in temperate climate regions. It possesses increased winter hardiness, withstanding temperature drops below -27 °C.

Fruits of early maturity (mid-October) have a round shape, a weight of 60–100 g, and a red-burgundy, sometimes almost black color with large dark spots. The pulp is sweet and contains a high percentage of sugars and dry matter. Yield reaches 90 kg per tree; the fruit shelf life is up to one month. There are indications of the need for a pollinator.
