The Trdinova variety is the result of the selection of local autochthonous buckwheat populations. During the development process, procedures were carried out to restore the authenticity of the starting material for the needs of farmers and flour production.
Plants of this variety belong to the entomophilous type, however, the mechanisms of their self-pollination in the absence of insects are being studied. The variety demonstrates competitive grain yield and is valued as a good honey plant.
Products from this variety are used for the production of buckwheat groats and flour, often positioned as a craft or specialized product.
