Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the new generation of soft-leaved tall fescues. Due to its low lignin, cellulose, and hemicellulose content, it possesses exceptional digestibility and high palatability, making it suitable for intensive grazing, as well as hay and haylage production, including in mixtures with alfalfa.

Bariane is characterized by a very late maturity group, which allows it to be harvested simultaneously with alfalfa. The variety demonstrates high dry matter yield, possesses a deep root system providing winter hardiness and tolerance to adverse conditions, as well as increased resistance to rust.

Studies confirm the variety's high dry matter productivity and its suitability for biogas production due to an optimal carbon to nitrogen ratio.
