The variety is a perennial grass suitable for livestock grazing, as well as for hay and silage harvesting. It is characterized by hardiness and is suitable for cultivation in moist lowland areas and heavy soils.

In comparative studies, the variety demonstrated palatability indicators taking an intermediate position between a number of other varieties and hybrids when used as hay. At present, the variety is often referred to as historical and may be excluded from current registers.
