The variety was bred in Estonia, breeding number Jõgeva LA 8. The initial material was selected in the village of Vea, which determined the name of the variety. The plant forms dense tufts and possesses dark green filiform leaves.
The variety is distinguished by slow initial development, however, it is early-flowering. The sward reaches a height of 10–40 cm. The plant is well adapted to dry and poor soils, is resistant to summer heat, drought and intensive grazing, while exhibiting weak competitiveness in relation to other species.
