The variety is mentioned in publications from the 1970s–1980s as a grass with very light green leaf color. A distinctive feature of the specimen was the absence of pronounced stems after the mowing procedure.
There is significant uncertainty regarding the species identity of the variety due to confusion in the taxonomy of fine fescues in the literature of the last century. In current variety registers, the name Vendome is more often associated with Festuca arundinacea, although data on current agronomic characteristics are absent.
