The variety is the result of breeding nine clones selected from Swiss and French ecotypes with an emphasis on resistance to bacterial wilt. The plant forms long, wide leaves and regrows primarily with leafy shoots after mowing.
The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness and adaptability to waterlogged soils. The produce has high nutritional value, excellent palatability, and high neutral detergent fiber digestibility.
The plant is versatile in use, suitable for hayfields, pastures, and rotational grazing, as it is capable of withstanding close-to-soil grazing. It can be used in forage mixtures to increase the productivity of grass stands during the summer period.
