The Rego variety, known in historical documents as Rego Trifolium, belongs to the species Festuca pratensis Huds. During the 1970s, the variety underwent trials at Danish agricultural stations, where it was classified as medium-early in heading dates. Yield in stands was assessed as medium-high.
To date, the variety has historical status. The name Rego appears in official EU catalogues of varieties of agricultural plant species in the context of rights registration and breeding history, however, the variety is not used in modern mass production.
