The Salten variety is used in agricultural practice and scientific research to study productivity and species interaction, in particular as part of mixtures with white clover.
As a meadow fescue variety, it is a perennial loose-bunch grass of the winter development type, characterized by high winter hardiness and the ability for rapid regrowth after mowing.
