The variety belongs to the Festuca rubra rubra subspecies. The plant forms a strong turf due to the presence of stolons, which provides a self-repairing capacity. In the year of sowing, the bush has an intermediate, semi-prostrate growth habit, with dark green leaves and a long and wide flag leaf.
The plant features rapid spring growth and a medium or late heading date. The variety shows high resistance to frost, drought, lodging, and fungal diseases, including crown rust, and also tolerates temporary waterlogging from snowmelt.
The variety is undemanding to soil types, including those poor in mineral substances, and adapts to various light conditions. It is used for creating sports and ornamental lawns, as well as a forage crop for haymaking and pasture use.
