The variety Rufilla belongs to the creeping red fescue subspecies and forms a dense turf due to the presence of creeping rhizomes. The plant exhibits high winter hardiness, drought tolerance, the ability to grow on soils with a low fertility level, and resistance to typical fungal diseases of turf grasses.
The variety is widely used in landscape design as a component of grass mixtures. Due to its ability to form wear-resistant turf, Rufilla is used for the arrangement of sports fields, areas with intensive use, as well as ornamental park and home lawns, including golf courses.
