The variety has the experimental designation PST-4SHAD and belongs to the species Festuca ovina. In botanical classification, this subspecies is included in the general group of Festuca rubra, but differs from creeping forms by the absence of pronounced long rhizomes.
The plant forms a dense and thick turf with narrow needle-like leaves. The variety is characterized by relatively slow growth, which allows it to be used for the creation of low-maintenance lawns, including in shaded areas.
Like other representatives of the subspecies commutata, the variety may show susceptibility to fungal diseases such as red thread. When using it, one must take into account that it belongs to the bunch-type, rather than creeping, form of fescue.
