The red fescue variety Šilis, also known as VB Šilis, was bred at the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (LAMMC). The plant is distinguished by a fast growth rate and high seed and green mass yield.
This variety is intended for use as a forage or lawn crop. The variety underwent official state trials in Lithuania, where crop condition and productivity were evaluated.
