Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the Festuca rubra ssp. commutata subspecies and is characterized by active tillering, which allows for the formation of a dense sward without the formation of rhizomes. The plant possesses a fine leaf texture and a low growth habit, which reduces the need for frequent mowing.

Silhouette possesses resistance to drought, heat, and a number of diseases, including red thread. The variety is undemanding regarding soil fertility, is suitable for landscaping parks, residential areas, and golf courses, and is often included in mixtures with Kentucky bluegrass or perennial ryegrass.
