Variety description

The variety is a local autochthon of the Apulia region, Italy. Depending on the locality, it is known by the names «Agostinella» or «vuciddìné». It belongs to the Common type, therefore it does not require mandatory pollination by Blastophaga wasps for fruit set.
The variety is traditionally used for processing, in particular for drying and the production of baked fruits with almond filling called «fico a croce». In individual trees of this variety, the presence of AHVd viroid has been detected.
