Variety description

10 August 2026

The Cavaliere variety is a vigorous tree that can produce two crops per season and possesses cold hardiness down to -16 °C. Fruits are medium to large in size and are characterized by a purple-brown color with purple stripes and bright red flesh.

The fruits have a complex flavor with notes of cherry and berries, as well as a honey sweetness. The variety is resistant to cracking under high humidity and is suitable for cultivation in open field or container culture.

Due to the long history of the variety's cultivation and its distribution by private collectors, various clones exist, which leads to some heterogeneity in the descriptions of plant characteristics.
