The fig variety «Clémentine» is mentioned in agronomic publications primarily in a historical context. In mid-19th-century works, it was equated with the «Aubergine» variety from Avignon and was also considered by researchers to be a synonym for the «Brunswick» variety.
No separate characteristics for «Clémentine» are provided in modern reference books. The «Brunswick» variety, to which it is attributed, is characterized by its wide distribution and the tendency of its fruit to crack under unfavorable growing conditions.
