The plant is a fast-growing tree or shrub, reaching 3–5 meters in height and 5–7 meters in diameter; cultivation in a container is possible. The variety is early, self-fertile, and capable of setting fruit without pollination. Frost resistance is estimated at up to -15°C...-20°C; the variety has a good ability to recover after severe frost damage.
The fruits are pear-shaped, with sizes varying from medium (30–40 g) to large. Upon full ripening, the skin turns purple-burgundy or blue-black; the flesh is red, aromatic, and sweet. The fruits are intended for fresh consumption, making jam, and drying, but are characterized by low transportability.
The variety is considered resistant to diseases and pests. In literature, the name is often used as a synonym for the Ronde de Bordeaux variety, which leads to confusion in the characteristics of plants sold under these names.
