The variety is a descendant of the variety Fairfax and belongs to the June-bearing group. The plants are characterized by high productivity, and the berries have a firm consistency and good taste qualities, suitable for freezing.
The plant possesses resistance to certain races of red stele root rot caused by Phytophthora fragariae. Historically, the variety gained widespread distribution due to its adaptability in northern regions, however, it may be susceptible to viral diseases.
