The plant forms dense bushes with a height of 50 to 76 cm and a width of up to 100 cm. The foliage is deeply dissected, dark green, and acquires reddish shades in the autumn. The flowers are cup-shaped, approximately 6.5 cm in diameter, and have a violet-blue color with dark veins and a light center.

The variety is drought-tolerant and winter-hardy, adapted to USDA hardiness zones 4–8. It is used in landscape design for creating mixed borders, container gardening, and as a groundcover plant in natural-style gardens.
