The Gernic variety, known under the commercial name Summer Skies, is presumably a hybrid of Geranium pratense and Geranium himalayense. The plant forms dense bushy clumps 45 to 75 cm tall with deeply dissected grey-green foliage.
The flowers are double, medium-sized, colored in a delicate pale lilac-pink or lilac-blue with dark veins and often a light center. Flowering occurs in the summer period from June to August; under favorable conditions, repeat flowering is possible. The variety is winter-hardy and used in ornamental gardening.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
