The plant has vigorous growth and reaches 45–60 cm in height. Flowers are large, cup-shaped, light pink when opening, and acquire greenish shades over time. Leaves are semi-evergreen, blue-green with pronounced venation and a characteristic bloom.

Flowering begins in mid-winter and continues until mid-spring. The variety prefers partial shade and well-drained moisture-retentive soils, hardy in USDA zones 5a–8b. The plant is resistant to deer and rabbit browsing due to its toxicity.
