The variety is a complex interspecific hybrid, presumably originating from a cross between Helleborus x ballardiae and Helleborus x hybridus. The plant reaches a height of 30–60 cm and possesses evergreen or semi-evergreen foliage, which displays silvery or pinkish veins at a young age.

The flowers are large, up to 7–8 cm in diameter, have a cup-like shape, and a pink-purple color with contrasting yellow stamens. The plant's flower stalks have a dark burgundy shade. The variety is early-flowering, with the flowering period spanning from late winter to May.

The plant is winter-hardy and prefers partial shade and moist fertile soils. It is characterized by resistance to damage by deer and rabbits. It is used in ornamental gardening for borders, plantings under trees, container landscaping, and cut flowers.
