The plant is an interspecific hybrid combining traits of various Helleborus species. It forms dense clumps with large, leathery, dark green palmate leaves. At maturity, the plant reaches a height of 30–60 cm.

The cup-shaped flowers have a deep red color with yellowish stamens. A characteristic feature is their orientation: the flowers face sideways or upward. The flowering period lasts from January to March. The variety possesses vigorous growth and high winter hardiness; it prefers partial shade and organic-rich, well-drained soils.
