Barley variety Lav is a spring crop. Its pedigree is represented by the genetic combination of Novosadski 294/Alva and Novosadski 316.

A distinctive feature of the variety is its high content of β-glucans, in terms of which it stands out in comparative studies of the nutritional value of cereals.
