The variety «Pavlovický raný» was obtained in 1916 by individual selection from the «Proskovcův hanácký» variety. Another line of the variety named «Pavlovický», used from 1952 to 1966, was bred as a result of crossing «Peragis» and a hybrid («Jihoslovanský 42» x «Kavkazský»).
The variety is classified as a six-row winter barley with a short vernalization period lasting 22–24 days. The plants were characterized by severe lodging, which was the reason for the restriction of the variety's use in 1971.
