The Troubadour barley variety underwent state variety trials in Denmark in the early 2010s. In documentation, it is listed as an object associated with breeding work; however, detailed morphological and agrotechnical characteristics of the variety are not provided in open registries.
In scientific literature, starting from the 1990s, this cultivar has been used in studies of maltingprocesses and the investigation of beta-glucan degradation, as well as source material for obtaining mutant barley lines.
