Variety description

The variety is a sport of the Hosta Hadspen Blue. The bush is of medium size, reaching 25–30 cm in height, and has a slow growth rate. As it matures, the plant may acquire the characteristics of the parent variety.

The leaves have a dense texture, a heart shape, and are colored an intense bluish-blue-green with light silvery-white centers or irregular stripes.

The plant is winter hardy (USDA zone 4) and prefers partial shade or shade, as it loses its characteristic coloring in direct sunlight and is susceptible to sunburn on the variegated parts of the leaf. The variety is considered difficult to propagate; loss of varietal characteristics is possible with the meristem method.
