The Zlatan variety is one of the clones obtained during breeding work with the Saaz semi-early red vine variety. The plant belongs to the semi-early maturity group and possesses the fine aroma characteristic of Saaz hops.

Currently, the variety has not gained widespread industrial cultivation and is predominantly maintained in scientific collections and gene banks. It has been used in biotechnological research, including work with meristems and tissue cultures.

The hop was intended for use in the brewing industry, particularly for the production of pale lagers. Its agronomic characteristics largely correspond to the properties of the original Saaz semi-early red vine variety.
