The variety belongs to the mid-early group and is traditionally grown in the Žatec region of the Czech Republic. The plant forms small, light-colored cones. The variety is characterized by low resistance to powdery mildew, which, along with moderate yield, limits its production volumes despite high global demand.

The alpha-acid content varies in the range from 2.0% to 5.0%, sometimes reaching 6.0%. The aroma profile is formed by a balance of essential oils, including farnesene, myrcene, humulene, and caryophyllene, which gives the beer spicy, woody, floral, and herbaceous notes. A high content of polyphenols contributes to reducing oxidation and increasing the shelf life of the finished product.
