This name refers to a local population of hops which consisted of a mixture of various biotypes originating from the Saazer or Bohemian Early Red variety groups. Due to the heterogeneity of the population, a detailed description of morphological and economic traits as a single variety is absent.

The regional population was used by Czechoslovak breeders as a genetic resource for obtaining more stable and productive varieties. In particular, the variety Blato, registered in 1952, was selected from this population using the mass selection method.
